Born in Mexico City, Suzanna has spent most of her life in Southern California. Creative from a young age, Suzanna has immersed herself in many art endeavors but during a family trip to the east coast in June of 2017, she came across a large personal archive of Playboy magazines from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. The powerful aesthetic and imagery inspired her to create mixed media, collage, and shadow boxes. These current works incorporates vintage imagery, original papers and pop culture. This modern nostalgic work takes you on a trip down memory lane and snaps you back to current day at the same time. The originals and giclee editions are now being made available.
Suzanna was honored to participate in We Rise LA (http://werise.la/) in 2018. We Rise is a pop-up festival of art and community, focused on the importance of mental health. She was grateful to be part of a show with over 150 artists, open to people of all diversities and backgrounds. Her "Time's Up" piece that hung on the walls for several weeks can be seen below.
